Our treasure: the house on Glockengasse

Great traditions should not only be remembered, they should be kept alive. Our house on Glockengasse No. 4711 is the perfect example of how this can happen.

 

In 1796, French commander Daurier ordered all of the buildings in Cologne to be numbered. This historic house on Glockengasse was labeled 4711, and the success story behind 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser was born. The number was registered as a trademark back in 1845, and since then it has been inseparably linked to Glockengasse.

 

Today this house with the unmistakable carillon is more than just a historic monument in Cologne. It is also a large flagship store and home to classic MÄURER & WIRTZ brands.
